Heeeere we go again...
Deadline sez there's a new RoboCop flick in the works, to be directed by Neill Blomkamp of "District 9" and "Chappie" fame.
Apparently it will be based off of a sequel script the writers of the original drafted back in the late '80s but was never used.
The article doesn't specify if the flick will feature the "old school" RoboCop or the new-look 2014 version, but since this script idea was connected with the original film(s), I would imagine they'd go with the O.G. version. I sure hope so anyway.

Well, they would have to try hard to make it as bad as the remake.
It occurs to me that this thread probably would've been better placed in the "Movie News/Press Releases" part of the forum. If any of the Mods are reading this would you be so kind as to move it??
As long as their going back to it's rated R roots, I'm fine with this.
Gimme ED 209, the future in law enforcement.

Maybe go with a HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN feel.
RoboCop vs predator.
RoboCop vs. Terminator.

OK so there's some legal possibility there...

Aaarrrgh, just shoot me now, please: another remake of a classic film is bad enough, but Blomkamp? :buggedout: :buggedout:

Not a fan, huh?
The only one of Blomkamp's films I've ever seen was
District 9, which I liked well enough.
I've heard mixed reviews of
Elysium, it's been on my list to check out but I haven't gotten round to it yet.
The trailers for
Chappie looked really stupid so I intentionally passed on that.
Saw District 9 on TV. Cool, but far too obvious.
"Actually, it's more like a concentration camp."
Thank you writer! I never would've connected those dots myself! :/
