I've heard of it. I don't get it.
Sure, John Wayne Gacy was creepy, and Sid Haig was cool- but I don't think of clowns as creepy.
Unless they're played by Lon Chaney-who is always creepy.
I agree.
Clowns get a bum rap.
Used to work with a guy with a crippling fear of clowns. Of course any social event we were both at I did my best to make sure I wore my Killer Klowns From Outer Space tee-shirt.

Count me in as someone who doesn't think clowns are scary or creepy.
I thought the low-budget movie wasn't too bad . . .

I've never been afraid of clowns either.
I think in the '00s it became fashionable to fake being afraid of clowns and I'm glad to see the backside of that silly fad.

Actually, The Nanny Diaries did have some creepy "French clowns."
But in truth they were just mimes with red lipstick & frilly collars.

Mimes- I just want to punch them in the face.

I wonder if with the second part of IT coming up is now the right time for the WWE to bring back Dunk?

I can understand why they may be unsettling for people to look at. However, even when I was a child I was never scared of them. I just thought they were super boring.
I had video games growing up. Dudes running around dressed like morons couldn't really keep up with Super Mario 64, frankly.
I've always put people's fear of clowns down to the make up distorting the facial topography, giving them exagerated and unnatural looking features. I could be entirely wrong, just my own personal theory.
Never found clowns scary, even as a kid I just thought they were lame. I remember being at some kind of Cub Scout event back then where the "entertainment" was a clown, and when the guy came in I rolled my eyes like "Seriously? Oy!" Haha
