"Manfred Mann's Earth Band's recording of the song changes the lyrics. The most prominent change is in the chorus, where Springsteen's "cut loose like a deuce" is replaced with "revved up like a deuce. This is commonly misheard as "wrapped up like a douche" (the V sound in "revved" is almost unpronounced, and the S sound in "deuce" comes across as "SH" due to a significant lisp)."

This belongs in Entertainment. :teddyr:
I put it here because it's just sumting stoopid.
I'm imitating Peter Lorre as I type this.
The duece was a reff to a 1932 Ford coup, a popular model. With hot dodders.
Yeh, I know what a "deuce" is. Not sure what a "dodder" is...

goddammit how many times do i have to say it??? my fingers just won;t type neatly! and i get sick and tired of spedning 4x longer fixing a message than typing it so sometimes i just don't fix the errors my fingers make all the xxxxing time!!!
Proofread before you hit post, Sven. Seriously, that just shows respect for other people here.
Glad you clarified that song, RC, I spent years trying to figure out why someone would wrap up a douche anyway. It would seem like a strange gift to wrap and give.

I refuse t spend far longer fixing a post than i did writing it anymore., it's just one of those things in life I finally just said "XXXX you!" to...
It's your choice, Sven, but if you want others to take you half as seriously as you hope they do then that would help you come closer. I'll say no more about it.

Well, I won't promise any such thing! Why bother to write anything at all if no one can understand the thing?
You may as well just type random letters-because at times it's like trying to decipher hiroglyphics.
Oo ee oo ah ah ting tang walla walla bing bang. Oo ee oo ah ah ting tang walla walla bing bang.

You have said you can qualify for Mensa-huh?
Yet you can't type.
Maybe it's like an Einstein who failed math class kinda thing?
Fact is- if you expect people to read your posts-make them readable.
You come across as lazy.
No hard feelings, man. Just don't b***h at me because your too lazy to do a simple thing as type a line of letters that make up words.

That song was sung by a dude born in Johannesburg [Manfred Mann aka Manfred Lebowitz]
It was a beautiful day today.
Me and Tiana grilled burgers under the carport, me and my son Eddie went to the store, I smoked some good pot,-the weather was 67 ,cloudy-felt like it wanted to rain, but it didn't. It was beautiful. I love Michigan in the fall.

My favourite misheard lyrics. There are a lot of them in this song.
