I don't eat a lot of fruit. I did when I worked at Honee Bear-because that's what we did.We canned fruit.
I eat apples-that's about it. Unless a tomato is a fruit. Because I eat tomatos like apples.
I do think tomato is a fruit, yessir. And fruit is a mixed blessing, a source of nutrients but also a hidden source of a lot of sugar. A banana will spike blood sugar really high. I avoid fruit juices, though I used to love smoothies above almost anything else. Tomatoes were thought to be poisonous for a long time in western Europe. Chelsea Quinn Yarbro wrote a story set in 1600s France in which a woman and her friend plotted to murder an abusive nobleman by feeding him tomatoes.
I try to eat fruit. Usually bananas, pears, rarely apples. I'm more likely to eat berries if I'm eating fruit.
If a tomato is a fruit-then I eat lotsa fruit.
I put tomatos in lotsa food.
I like blueberries in my corn flakes, though.
Used to have a friend in Texas who would literally throw up if he tried to eat a slice of raw tomato. We used to get him to do that during truth or dare.
I love fruit! Apples, oranges, pomegranates, peaches, plums, you name it!

Don't get me wrong. I love fruit. I spent my life picking fruit and working in a fruit canning factory for 30 years.
I just don't eat so much now. I really should.
I picked strawberries, blueberries, grapes, apples, cherries for money as a kid, also pickles, potatoes ,green beans, and watermelon.
I just dont eat it so much no more.Except Peppers, tomatoes, onions, garlic, horseradish, apples, cabbage, beans, -but that aint fruit.
I eat pears!
I try to eat fruit regularly although it doesn't happen as often as I would like. Although since this thread has reminded me I am going to go down to the dining room and get a pear.
I usually have a shake for breakfast made with water, protein powder and fruit (usually bananas, grapes, melons, strawberries or pineapples). Occasionally, I will eat an apple, orange or plum. But I don't eat a lot of fruit (except in my morning shake).
If I remember correctly, tomatoes are vegetables for trade purposes, but are fruits for scientific purposes.
And strawberries are not fruits scientifically, since their seeds are on their outside skin.
And I love fruit & fruit juice. They're sweet.
Not as much as I should.
I eat lots Raisin Bran! Does that count?
I know I should eat more fruit, esp. as I get older but aside from the occasional "fruit cup" with my lunch I rarely, if ever, eat it. I do eat plenty of veggies, tho, so I hope that balances things out. :D
This might sound odd, but I've always preferred canned fruit over fresh. I don't remember my Mom ever buying fresh fruit when I was a kid in the '70s, but there were always canned peaches, pears, etc. around the house so it's just what I'm "used" to, I guess.
I'll never pick up an apple, but if you take 'em and put'em in a pie or make applesauce, I'm there. :D
My lone exception to this is oranges, specifically the little "clementine" ones you see in stores around the holiday season - I love those things. As soon as they start showing up in the grocery store I make sure to have some to put in my lunch box for work.
When thinking about diet I keep in mind the conditions our ancestors lived in and therefore the circumstances human bodies adapted to as our species underwent the weathering of natural selection, and fruit was a seasonal rarity at best for hundreds of thousands of years, meaning ideally we consume it in moderation if we want to replicate what our DNA probably gears us to best face. But then again I don't eat meat and our opportunistic ancestors did, so...
I will say that never in human history have we consumed as much sugar as we do in developed societies today, natural sugar, artificial sweeteners, and the results are telling. It is killing us in droves.
Dr. Daniel Perlmutter is a good person to read on the subject of how sugars in fruit affect us for the worse.
I have no diet. I eat according to what the weather is like. I don't eat alot in the summer. I loose about 10 pounds every summer.
Winter-I eat like Henry the VIIIth. Turkey, stew, roast beef. Then I gain it back.

Sounds healthy.
I eat, or more correctly,
drink pureed fruit with water and maybe a little fruit juice, but no corn syrup sh!t, every day. I eat strawberries, and blueberries, raspberries, any damn berry! And pineapple! I LOVE pineapple, fresh or out of a can (rings only please). I eat a lot of root vegetables like sweet potatoes just scrubbed and baked (they need nothing)...
You know, to completely contradict myself up there, I think everyone is different and some people can eat one thing that another can't, some things seem to be good for some people that aren't for others, so if something is working for you, keep doing it. I know sugar screws me up and I try to stay under twenty grams a day.
Eating with the season seems to be a good practice. Moderation seems another. Above all else, stay active.
