Title: South African classics: Jannie Totsiens (1970)
Post by: Trevor on December 07, 2018, 01:54:22 AM
The first South African horror film: title translates as Johnny Farewell.

I am asked a lot which is the scariest film I have ever seen and my answer always is this one.

Link to Rev. Powell's site review below:

The film is eerie, disturbing, horrifying, emotionally draining but pretty funny too.

If this ever becomes available in the U.S. I'm sure you'll let us know. I'd like to see it someday.

More people should see this film: I once had a client from Scotland who viewed this and the earlier Die Kandidaat [The Candidate] which are mostly in Afrikaans: she said that while she couldn't understand a word of either of them, they were great films.
