Title: Favorite PINK PANTHER movie!

I'm only listing the Peter Sellers films, because it's easier that way!
My favorite is the PINK PANTHER STRIKES AGAIN (1976). Mostly because of Herbert Lom's parody of himself  in his horror films.

I voted that too; Lom is at his best in Strikes Again.  Sellers was great as usual.  The interrogation scene and the Hunchback costume were among the best parts, as well as the drawbridge, the dentist scene and where Clouseau meets Lom at the asylum.

SHOT IN THE DARK is close.  A few good scenes from RETURN made it worthwhile (the "minky"/beggar scene and the chewing out by Dreyfus in particular) but was a bit too plot-heavy.

They need to leave these movies alone.  Without Lom and Sellers the magic just isn't there.

I loved when Lom had to eulogize his nemesis and can't stop cracking up at the compliments he has to give:

Funny, I loved these movies as a kid, one in particular, but I'm not sure which one it is. Now that I look at the Wiki synopses of the film, I see that my memory has conflated two films: The Pink Panther Strikes Again, and The Return Of The Pink Panther.

The sight of Cato ripping through the four poster bed while Clouseau is trying to get it on, with Clouseau yelling, "NO CATO, NOW IS NOT ZE TIME!" is burned into my pre-teen mind.

There's another fabulous scene where a seemingly indestructible assassin, Mr. Chong, is brought in to kill Clouseau. Only years and years later did I learn that Mr. Chong was the famous American Kenpo founder Ed Parker, who was the instructor of Jeff Speakman and fight consultant on his debut movie, The Perfect Weapon (1991).

If only the directors knew how to shoot action in those days. More's the pity, eh.

The Return of the Pink Panther is my favourite one.

Especially where Catherine Schell cracks up at Peter Sellers calling himself a "trouble sh***er" instead of a trouble shooter.

Dreyfus: "Don't just stand there, idiot. Call a doctor and then help me find my nose!"

STRIKES AGAIN is my favorite, followed closely by A SHOT IN THE DARK and then RETURN. THE PINK PANTHER has waaaaay too much David Niven for any human being to tolerate.

Did you know that david niven was the inspiration for the DC comics villain Sinestro?

That is bizarre, but thinking about how Sinestro looks, totally makes sense.

Wasn't Marvel villain Jason Wyngarde (Mastermind) visually based on the actor Peter Wyngarde, well known for the TV series Jason King?

He's grabbing the guy by the belt and picking him up with his f**king UMBRELLA.
Not even Bruce Lee can do that!  :buggedout:

I was kinda worried about admitting I like strikes again too.  It was the most B movie version of the series.
