I've been having some knee pain over the last few months. I had an MRI which showed a torn meniscus. So the doctor has to do a knee arthroscopy to repair the damage.
f**k. I didn't want to see an operating room again so soon.
We're all wishing you the best.

Yeah, that sounds horrible. :bluesad:
Reading books when I'm locked up in a bed helped me.
Best of luck to you.
Sorry man. :bluesad: The good news is that repairing a torn meniscus is routine. It's a common basketball injury. You may have to use crutches for weeks afterwards, but otherwise recovery doesn't sound that bad, and your pain should be gone.
best of luck to you, sprite!
I'm checking in at 8:30 tomorrow morning for the surgery. Operation is around 10:00am.
Don't worry and I am sure if the surgeon has fur and a tail... well that is just the sedative talking and not a cat wondering where you hid the beer.
Surgery went well. Went home around 1pm.
So far not much pain. Just a bit tired.
Glad it all went well, and hope the recovery goes just as well.
YYAAYYY!!!!
Now ending T plus 3 days. The first full day after surgery was the worst but it's gotten better since then. I can do some walking without crutches but keep them around just in case my right leg gets p**sed off and decides to remind me it had just been operated on. Pain isn't too bad. I haven't had to take the pain meds they gave since the first day. I'm not taking those again unless I need them.
I think tomorrow I'm going to go in town. I have to get out of the house. Going stir-crazy here.
sugar, please take your crutches with you, okay? and a folding stool if you have one, because you WILL need to sit more than you think. don't risk the progress you're making, please! ((hugs!))

Of course. The crutches are coming with me when I go out just in case they're needed.
thank you. you might want to look into a cane like mine too, it has a little folding seat with legs so i can sit when my knee bugs me.
