This is too old to be news, but it's still interesting so here it it. It's about a stray which lived for over a decade in one neighborhood. Tho some tried, no one could catch him & keep him contained.

'Black Dog would appear out of nowhere, Staples said. "You would never know when you would see him, but it was magical when you did. He was always very respectful."

Staples said the chow almost looked like a bear. "We would tell new folks to the neighborhood about him so they wouldn't be afraid or call animal control on him."'

Apparently he was found one morning, killed by a car.

Are you familiar with the story of the Grey Friars Bobby?
It's similar to this story.

Yes, if only because of the 1961 film Disney made, which was based upon this story. A film I have seen multiple times. The last time I was in Edinburgh (Scotland) which was years after the film was made, they still talked about the story of Grey Friars Bobby, and the film based upon his story.
