One of his best lines had to be "I'm not stupid, i'm not expendable and i'm not going! "
He did a voice on the little known but good computer rts-fps hybrid called "Hostile waters antaeus rising"

Last thing I saw him in was a pilot for a show where he'd have been in charge of a group defending the world from Lovecraftian cults. Shame it never got picked up, it had all the makings of one of the old classic BBC shows.
RIP Paul, thanks for showing me that bad guys (Avon) were way cooler than heroes would ever be.
RIP, Paul.
HOLY $#$^ NO NO NOOOOOOO!
Paul Darrow was one of my favourite actors growing up, and I was just thinking about him only a few days ago. This is so awful. Holy heck. I have all the Blake's 7 DVDs, his appearance in Thriller, in Hammer House of Horror, his readings of Blakes 7 and of the wonderful children's science fiction novel Rebecca's World. Crap crap crap. This is hitting me like some folks felt about Leonard Nimoy's passing. :bluesad: :bluesad: :bluesad:

Do you recall the name of this show, and do you know if it's around on YouTube or a similar platform?

Not offhand but I will look into it. It made its way onto TV as part of a series of short horror stories. I'll do some digging and get the title for you and so on.
Ok, after some google fu, the episode was called "The Rough Magick Initiative" and was released on DVD as part of the H.P. Lovecraft Collection (vol 2) and is also called "Dreams of Cthulhu" (which is where I picked it up a few years back). I am seeing links to it on Youtube, but I can't access that at work to see if it is the full episode.
Wow, thank you so much! I will dig into this.
RIP Mr. Darrow. Sigh...

If it helps any, I feel the same way. A sad loss.
A few years ago, I bought Paul's autobiography "You're Him, Aren't You", first published in 2006. Although not a large book, it's full of interesting stories and tidbits about his time in the industry, and his personal life. Towards the end, he speculated about what would be said in his obituaries.
The News Of The World: "Leather clad 70s sex symbol bites the dust."
The Sun: "Avon Won't Be Calling Any More"
One of the funnier stories he related was walking down the street and being met by two young boys in matching silver jackets and black pants. They said to him solemnly, 'we know who you are, but we'll never let the Federation know'. Their mother smiled at him; he seemed amused as well.
In memory of our fallen anti-hero and reluctant rebel leader, I'm going to read his autobiography again. :bluesad:

You might want to get "hostile waters antaeus rising" which he voiced a main character in. It also has Tom baker as a narrator and the woman who played soo lin doing a voice.

It's also a good game that runs on damn near anything that can be called a PC today.
