I'm calling it a good movie. Anyone want to discuss it?
Only the country that brought us dr. Who could have created it...
The director is actually from the USA.
One of my friend's wife's mentioned she loved Terry Gilliam's stuff, so I bought her a copy of Time Bandits. Little did I know she had a crippling fear of short people.
It's a strange movie, but it's a very enjoyable one. No description really does it justice.
I LOVED The Time Bandits when I was a kid. Used to imagine that a bunch of British dwarves were using my room as their interdimensional gateway. I haven't seen it for at least 30 years, so I don't remember too much of it, apart from Evil saying that God made weird choices like 'nipples for men', and the Bandits singing Me And My Shadow. I also have the novelization.
I have it on DVD, will check back in after I've watched it. I might be very disappointed, or I'll have a wonderful time remembering my childhood. Wish me luck!
Great movie!

isn't there condensed evil in a microwave or something? I think I saw it

Yeah, right at the end of the movie.
I haven't seen it in dog years, but I remember liking it a lot as a kid. I know I saw it several times when it was making the cable-TV rounds in the early 80s. I even had the Marvel Comics adaptation!
Now that I think about it, "Time Bandits" was most likely my introduction to some of Monty Python's major players (Gilliam, Cleese, Palin).

Mine too! Saw it in the theater when I was 12 or 13.
