The new series has a rep for doings lot the old one didn't, but sometimes I think they re gojng too far.

Rose was a companion i don't mind, she's not among my favorites though but she's fine, the most recent one i didn't like was Bill and it wasn't because she was gay. though i don't think they really needed to add that in but it kinda to me felt that it was to break ground rather than do it or the show. history was the word i was looking for, but hey i could be wrong who knows? either way i don't hate her she was just i dunno a nothing character that i didn't care for that's all how about you?
