Paper man 1971.
This TVM is so far ahead of it's time it'seerie.
Basically a group of college students reviece a credit card issued wrongfully due to a computer error.
Now remember at the time computers took up rooms, ran on magnetic tape reels and paper punch cards, and has less computing power and speed, by orders of magnitude, than the device you're reading this on.
To escape their college debt the intrepid students create a false ID, a "paper man" who only exists as a set of fake records, to use the card and then erase the debt by altering computer records using their college computer. This was before the term hacking was coined.
Deal stock well (F it i'm nit fixing that.) Plays a brilliant and reply troubled computer genius recruited to help the cool kids with their scheme, the aloha male jock leader even sics a cute do ed on him to keep him loyal.
At first all is well, but then people start dying in ways connected with computer issues. One Asian woman is literally turn in half by a malfunctioning elevator in a very carefully handled handled but still horrifying scene.
In a time when computers we're barely worthyg of the name by modern standards and the term hacking was till in the future paper man dealt with issues thst would nit come to the oublic's attention for many years. It was so fasrahead of it' time itcs incredible. Still worth watching.
I have this movie on DVD in a Mill Creek 50 Movie Pack. I watched it a few years ago and enjoyed it.
