I haven't seen this in syndication in yonks. I guess it's been quietly censored as too """racist""" for having a white guy play a Chinese man. Oh, and a good guy smoker a pipe, ghawd firbud we let kids see that horror today!

Pity, it was a decent movie IIRC. Geroge Pal's last film. The stop motion wasn't done by Ray Harryhausen, sadky,  but good enough.

Looking it up I see some props from TWoO were in it.

I'm calling this one a good movie No matter how """racist""" it's been determined to be now.

"Yonks" is an English term that simply means a long time.

Ye-es, his last film as a director. He might have had a longer career as a director, if the film had been more successful.

As a producer, his career would continue into the next decade, when his last film would be Doc Savage : the Man of Bronze. The only one of his films that I have seen, that I disliked.

And if one enjoys The 7 Faces of Doctor Lao, which is wonderful, if one is playing Charades, here are a couple more of his fantasy films, that one might enjoy: The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm and Tom Thumb.

You're right about Dr. Lao.  As for doc savage I found it enjoyable in the same sense thast Adam west's  batman was.
