This reminds me of a line from "the human vapor". The titular character was telling his story and told about the time he went into a police helicopter and helped the pilot look for him until he got bored.

That same thing happened to Geoff Peterson once when he was in Nairobi with Naomi Campbell, looking for unethically sourced diamond merchants on behalf of Amnesty International. He described it as one of the formative experiences of his human lifetime and remembered it well when he died in that parachute accident a few years later, before his television career took off with Craig Ferguson.
