Some thoughts about ghosts/spirits from a youtube channel called The Ghosts of Carmel Maine. A man named Kent owns a house that used to be a funeral home. It appears that three main ghosts are haunting his house. He has captured amazing footage, here are a few highlights put together as a compilation from another youtube channel
Error 404 (Not Found)!!1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbNwdDWeC9E#)
Stuff like that makes me wonder what the 'motivation' of these spirits are. Why can't they just move on? Are they really fueled by negative energy? Bound to haunt a single place for decades? In this case they are continually asking Kent for help, yet at the same time they want him to leave. Overall it seems like they get pleasure out of simply f**king with him.
The spirits are aware of their surroundings, but is there another greater force that keeps them bound to a certain place? They won't or can't elaborate when Kent asks how he can help. Some replies he got are "can't move" or "I'm in hell".
Anyway, just a bit of rambling about this subject. If you have a ghost theory, feel free to chime in.
Just because ghosts are real does not mean they exist!
I saw some of this guys earlier videos, and I don't remember what it was at the moment, but something in them tipped me off that he's a scammer. I actually do believe in spirits and it bothers me when someone tries to exploit other people's beliefs. I'll try to go back and watch the videos again to see if I can point out what it was that made me think he is scamming.
I believe the "stone tape" theory where some not yet understood environmental phenomena can kind of record events and sounds from the past and play them back when conditions are right. I think this is the root of most ghost sightings. I also believe in intelligent spirits, but I think they exist on another wavelength that cannot be captured on camera, but can be experienced on a personal perception level. I'll let you know when I've figured it all out .
I think poltergeist's are real . Whatever the f**k is going on there is NOT a dead person's essence.
I had s**t fly off the top of my fridge when my kids were little and I was arguing with Gail, my kids birth mother. My friend Larry and his wife were sitting at the kitchen table. The cereal boxes, an old toaster, a can of Ajax some other s**t- ALL went flying off the top of the fridge. I didn't do it. I'm 5'2"! The fridge was taller than my sawed off ass!
This was when I lived in the little house near the woods. REAL little. It was an old farm hand house, with a shed and an outhouse in back. On the edge of town. Older than dirt.
His videos are very long, usually one + hour. The vibe I get is that he is honest, but then again I could be wrong.
People say UFOs don't exist yet there are millions of pics and footage captured worldwide for decades so, I dunno.

I believe in ufo's because I
seen them. Not lights in the sky. Aircraft. 3 times. And I was not drunk. The first time was in 1971. I ain't saying they are from outer space- but I can tell you this-they ain't from here. If we had that tech we would use it.
I'm open minded on the subject. I had an OBE once so can accept there is something ire to humanity than the physical body. Also quantum mechanics suggests human awareness may be tied into the universe at some fundamental levels.
One thing abut (hey a typo! everyone be sure to kick and abuse me for it!) ghost stories that makes me think is the almost universal references to coldness being associated with ghostly apparitions and activity.
I find it interesting that coldness is associated with ghostly stories. Coldness is simply a lack of heat. Heat is a thing, a form of energy. Coldness is nit a thing, it's a lack of something, namely heat.
To speculate, suppose something exists thast is not currently explainable by modern science, something beyond our current understanding of reality. Call it a ghost if you want.
This thing may currently be beyond our knowledge and perhaps not fully bound by physics as we understand them know (and our current knowledge of physics s incomplete as we cannot explain many things yet)
But suppose whatever it is it has to operate under at least some laws of physics. One law of physics is thst (go for it Aholes! ) it requires energy from some source to do anything.
Now what if this thing has to have an energy source to do things like make noise, move things, affect kght enough to baby come visible, etc. Suppose it uses ambient heat in some way, it takes heat out of it's vicinity to do things like appear, move things, etc.
That might account for the coldness associated with ghostly manifestations. Just something that makes me wonder if there couild be something to these stories.

So ghosts are invisible babys?

Oh yeah- Casper! :twirl:
I have to say cool as I find footage of this sort, I didn't see anything in that video that couldn't have been faked without a lot of difficulty. I also showed the man in the video to someone who has experience reading people from a former career and asked if he thought the man seemed genuine and he said, "He's half-convinced himself of all this but he's not so far down the rabbit hole that he's lost touch with the fact it's not true."
For what any of that is worth.

Hell RC if I didn't make typos you'd accuse me of copying someone else's work.

Fact is Sven, there are folks on this board whose politics or religion sounds silly to me.
But that's just me.
I don't jam it down everyone's throat with every other post I make because I think I know everything.
Get off your high horse and mellow the f**k out. I reckon folks will like you better. And type better- and if you don't- don't b***h about folks calling you out on it. You are aware that you are f**king up and write a whole sentence saying " Look! I f**ked up!" and it would have taken you less time to just fix it.
Are you that lazy? Do you have a job? I hope your not as lazy at work. And if you don't- that may be why.
Dam- change your mindset, man.
Don't blame me because your a moron.
When is this gonna stop with you? Do you have any friends in the real world? Is your life taht (yes I made a typo! And I will write this long defense statement telling every one on the board to f**k off because I'm to lazy to fix that!) empty?
I'm sorry Claws, I didn't mean to hijack this thread- but this moron has just got in my craw.

No prob. You give him hell rc :teddyr:
If you cut through a lot of bovine scatology I do think ghosts, for lack of a better term, exist, though what they are is the real question. Why they wear clothes though is something I don't get, unless clothes themselves have souls that continue on in the afterlife. I know I've caught almost sentient attitude before off things I've worn, especially shoes that have seemed out to get me, so maybe it's possible. Trevor's underwear is probably harboring some primordial life forms, after all.

Doing okay, Gabriel? Your vesicle situation you mentioned you were getting treated?
When I was a kid-I was 6, so it was in 1968, I was in a field that teenagers used as an oval race track. And my brother Mike was at the edge- and he was hollering something. Ma told us not to play out there. Not because kids drag raced out there, it was because it was filled with copperhead snakes ( which it was), but it was haunted. Like we gave a f**k. We ran wild. Anyway, Mike was yelling at me from the end of the field- so I ran towards him. But I stopped to ask the girl with blue framed glasses and pig tails who out of nowhere was running beside me where the f**k she came from. But she wasn't there.
Now- I would put this on a little kid imagination shelf except for ONE thing.
When I caught up to my brother Mike, he asked me- "Where did that girl go?"
THAT has stuck with me my whole life.

Good vibes and best wishes your way for Tuesday. I'm sure you'll be back with us in no time. Plus I bet they'll give you some groovy drugs. :twirl:
I think medicine is good in Argentina. Some man I know had a liver transplant in B.A. and spoke highly of the doctors and nurses there.

I've often thought of that encounter of yours, RC, and it's amazing.
I've posted my one and only inexplicable incident on here often enough so I can't discount other people's experiences, especially one that sounds "right" like yours does, but what seems kind of funny now is how I was so focused on trying to be a scientific rationalist in 1995 when it happened that I went into mental contortions to explain it as a time shift instead of using the "g-word" lol.

All great films. Watch and learn and have lotsa fun!
My sister and her husband told me last weekend they have a ghost 'haunting' their apartment. The spirit was brought on by my sister's daughter, who thinks she caught the attention of a ghost playing with a ouija board some years ago. The ghost was first at my niece's place, she confirmed sightings of a shadowy entity in her apartment. She believes the spirit followed her when she visited her mother and her husband.
My sister isn't too pleased about the 'unwanted guest'. They first heard strange noises at night coming from the living room. Now they hear noises in their bedroom. My niece suggested burning sage and pouring salt to get rid off the ghost. I told my sister to put up a cam at night to check for paranormal activity. Not sure what they are going to do but I'll post updates if any at all.

Did you convince her to put up a camera? That would be cool to see!
I'm going to a paranormal event on Saturday with my daughter.. Yes - I'm actually going out and doing something social! With people! That I don't know! And ghosts! That I don't know! I have high hopes! Most likely I'll end up not talking to anyone and staying far in the back feeling out of place, but maybe not! Hopefully I will have a cool update too!
I knew a girl, her name was Lori. She usta belong to some local 'Ghost Hunters' club thing.
I thought it was pretty goofy.
I have a new one to add, told to me just today by someone with whom I work.
This person lost her older brother, Barran, in combat just over eight years ago, and in her country it is a tradition one month after the funeral to gather the family together and eat the favorite foods of the person who has been lost. This is seen as a joyful celebration of a lifetime to counterpoint and conclude the mourning of loss that the funeral itself represented.
She said this meal was held in her parent's flat, which sat on ground level directly off the street in a city, and afterwards she and her mother had finished drying dishes and putting them away and as she and her mother were sitting on a sofa talking alone then right after dark, slight evening light still on the edge of the sky, both she and her mother looked outside and through the window saw this woman's older brother, whose death they'd just marked, standing in the street staring in at them.
Each reacted as one, springing up and rushing to the door but when they got to the street there was no one there and nowhere for anyone to dash off to and hide for half a block either way.
She said if she had seen this by herself she might have discounted it but for her mother to see it at the same second and react exactly the way she did has left her believing ever since that she and her mother saw their loved one looking in on them before passing on to wherever he was going.
And the way she said all this, confiding and shy but firm, I do believe she is not inventing this account.
I ain't saying there is no such thing as haunted houses. I been in enough to know that they exist.
I just ain't gonna jump to conclusions on what causes it- or all that stupid ghost hunter junk- which is 99 percent hype.
i hope your coworker and her mother are right, ER, and that it gave them peace.
I never had any experience with the paranormal tbh...but I love myself some paranormal documentaries like Paranormal Witness or anything like that. I might not believe in it (mostly because I never saw something with my own eyes), but I somehow like the idea of it being real.
I spend most of my quarantine time watching ghost videos... at night :teddyr:
I'm subscribed to nuke's top 5 on youtube, his last week's video 5 SCARY Ghost Videos That Will MESS YOU UP BRO ! was a real stunner. People are freaking out if you check reaction videos. Probably one of nuke's creepiest in some time:
