Title: What's for dinner?
Post by: RCMerchant on November 02, 2019, 09:17:23 PM
Tomorrow I'm making spaghetti with Italian sausage. With red sauce, bell peppers, mushrooms, tomatos and garlic bread. My son Jed and his family are coming over.
And of course stinky cheese and crushed red peppers on the side! Mama Mia!
I like the  hot spicy sausage, but Tiana don't, and she's the boss, so I use mild.

Tonight was some British food and Taco Bell (What a combo)
Tomorrow there's a sammich fest nearby so I'll get a sammich from there.

My dinner on Saturday was roasted beet hummus topped with lebanese style ground beef (similar to Hashweh).
Not sure what my dinner for today is going to be. Either leftovers from yesterday or takeout doner platter.

Because Sundays are our gaming days we tend to eat junk food rather than our usual sit down meals.

Last night I made moqueca--a Brazilian fish stew served over rice. With a side of mashed potatoes and leftover homemade pecan pie with fresh whipped cream.

Tonight the extended family gets together at my parent's house and we'll have takeout Indian food. Lamb Vindaloo was my pick for an entree.

Ah, yes, food, my old foe.

I'm just plain weird about food. I have worries about choking (and others choking), meat disgusts me and almost always has, I have a phobia about ever being overweight, I don't like bread, I almost can't swallow soup because it's like a hybrid that feels all wrong, and I mostly avoid sugar, except during my rare ice cream overdoses.

I have tried to set a good example in the time since I've had children and don't want my issues to affect them but food is not something that motivates me very much in life.

As to last night's dinner, well, despite having just written all that, it was a junk food binge-a-thon while everyone hung out here. Pizza rolls, stuffed nachos, BBQ chips, dip, cheese curls, lil' chocolate donuts, chocolate chip ice cream, a Romanesque orgy of everything bad fer ya.

Our expected junk food dinner didn't happen tonight. I made a stir fry with roast chicken and potato rossi.

Turned out pretty well I think.

Dinner tonight? Not sure.  Don't feel like cooking.  Probably get a couple of cheesesteaks or hoagies.  Undecided.

That sounds quite awesome actually.  That's the stuff I like.  Hot sausage too.

Today is National Sandwich Day, so I just had a sweet potato bread sandwich with smooth peanut butter and banana slices.

Fruit cocktail-laden dark green off-brand gelatin, unsweetened coconut milk, half a too squishy avocado, and fake Ritz-ish crackers with jalapeno cream cheese....from-a-plastic-tube. I do not think any other person throughout time ever had those things together for dinner. The dude across from me was eating a triple Quarter Pounder. I did not know such creations even existed outside mad scientists' twisted dreams but I do think he was getting an unnatural degree of pleasure from that sandwich, so good for him.

Didn't feel like cooking so I got a couple of cheeseburgers and a 20-piece nuggets box from McDs.

I had an Asian Fusion Truffle Tuna Poke Bowl at the mall yesterday. Mine included truffle hummus, tuna, avocado, edamame beans, cherry tomatoes, rice, lettuce and roasted sesame seeds with a sprinkling of red chili flakes. This meal had the characteristics of sushi prepared as a salad. It was delicious. People were actually standing in line for those bowls.

We'll have to see - I'm going to the services for my classmate today and supposedly there's going to be food there.  It depends what they have.  Otherwise I'll work on the lasagna I got last night for dinner.
