What if . . . ?
What if he had won the Oscar for Best Supporing Actor for his work in Bonnie and Clyde? How would that had affected his career? Supposedly, he was the odds on favorite to win till Gene Hackman was nominated for the same Oscar for the same film. Thus, splitting the vote, so that neither actor won. And now I can't even remember who did win that Oscar that year.
