Just wanted to say that I'm happy that, by and large, political discussions haven't ruined this forum.
I read another forum where the off-topic discussion was ruined by them. A few posters made multiple topics that completely dominated all the discussions (I like to read it for restaurant and bourbon recommendations). All of them invariably turned into p**sing contests.
The solution there was for the admins to create a separate political board, which worked just fine. That solution won't work here, though. (Although I do like the idea of keeping everything in one thread).
So I want to thank you all for keeping the discussions relatively civil. There have been a few problems and hard feelings, but very few, all things considered. I try to stay out of these discussions myself, but I confess I'm not immune to making the occasional snarky comment.
Anyway, there is a good sense of family here. We can disagree here and still stay friends, which is rare these days. Thought the board deserved to give itself a little pat on the back for that.

I am usually not polite about political topics, but I am always polite about policial topics.
Okay, so much for my "funny". :bluesad: Removing it; then, I'll remove this.
I thought it was funny . . .

Thanks. I told you why I'd let you hold my wallet.
I don't understand why nobody replied to this thread except me. Then, I figured it was because I pointed out a typo for fun... and it was corrected. Then still nobody responded. Frankly, I thought it was a nice thing
Rev wrote to all of us. Typo! I was a smart ass; couldn't resist. And then...

This place isn't really dead, but it is slower than it was in the glory years.
I miss ER being here!

What happened to ER?
She is working away from home for an extended period since before the holidays. I've been in touch with her via email now and again.
So basically, we won't be able to organize a couple of p**sing contests? :bluesad:
