What are some MOVIE SOUNDTRACKS you love?
I love lots of soundtracks, but I'll start with a favorite, CARNIVAL OF SOULS (1962)

One pretty much everyone loves: THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY

If I had to vote for the best soundtrack of all time this would be my pick.

Great choice; I have an
ENNIO MORRICONE compilation of soundtrack work.

MIDNIGHT COWBOY (1969)

Dave Grusin's soundtrack to 3 DAYS OF THE CONDOR. elegant, suspensful groovy jazz. pure 70s

AMISTAD has a hauntingly beautiful soundtrack I will never forget!

Both LORD OF THE RINGS and THE HOBBIT trilogies have beatiful music, I enjoy listening to them all the time.
I also love the main theme of DRAGONHEART, and most of Danny Elfman stuff. Like, seriously, who doesn't like BEETLEJUICE or TALES FROM THE CRYPT theme songs?
WARCRAFT soundtrack blew my mind, felt exactly like the games.
Two of my faves:

2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY
No original music, but the best integration of classical music in film ever.

Though
GYORGY LIGETI might be largely unknown if
KUBRICK hadn't used his music, and though not composed for the film, it sure is original.
I own
MIKLOS ROZSA's soundtrack for
BEN HUR on two different vinyl issues (boxed set and gatefold) plus the two disc CD issue. I listen to that every spring. It's wonderful.

5000 FINGERS OF DR. T
This scene freaked me out a little as an adult, I can't imagine how it would have affected kids in 1952.

I always like this one from 5000 FINGERS OF DR. T :

A few I dig, dripping with cheesy goodness:
THE BALLAD OF HARRY WARDEN- From "My Bloody Valentine"

SUPER SNOOPER- From the otherwise really dumb "Super Fuzz"

DEEP RED/PROFONDO ROSSO- Goblin, from the titular Dario Argento horror flick

^ I like that DEEP RED (1975 aka PROFONDO ROSSO) but man oh man, I thought I liked bad music as much as bad movies... you might got me beat!
Well, speaking of Goblin:

I'm posting this on behalf of Mofo Rising, who really loved this soundtrack album. He said he used to listen to it to fall asleep at night. Sweet dreams!
My two current favorites are the ones from Zombie (1979) or Zombi 2 (1979):

and City of the Living Dead (1980):

They both remind me of Ennio Morricone for some reason. Maybe it's because Ennio Morricone did the theme music for The Thing (1982) and these both sound a bit reminiscent of that soundtrack.

For those who have seen the movie, try this version which comes with scenes from the latter.
