And the cops had to let him go because of some law saying they can't arrest state leaders while the state congress is in session.

I agree- he should have went to jail.
But what does his stance on gun control have to do with anything?

When anti second amendment crowd start talking about taking away guns, & gun related deaths, the pro second amendment crowd likes to point out traffic related deaths.
It's particularly poignant in Virginia, where Governor Northam is trying to eliminate annual car inspections, as well as decriminalize certain traffic violations that would cause an individual to lose their driving permit.

Also, It's not necessarily new, but rather, there have been a few examples throughout history of irresponsible people in leadership roles, such as Delegate Hurst, who tout this notion that "Government Knows What's Best", because privately, they have this quiet notion that the rest of the world is every bit as reckless & irresponsible as they are.
They believe that EVERYONE is prone to having one too many & getting behind the wheel, which is why it shouldn't be a big deal, but they gladly believe the stereotypes of the gun owner as a "James Carville" impression playing Clint Eastwood with live ammo around small children.

the only problem i see here is the fact that he didn't go to jail because of" executive privilege", much like the ambassador's wife( i think her hubs is an ambassador?) won't be extradited for killing an innocent man because she can't drive correctly in another country. total BS.
