Title: Getting an upper GI scope on the 21st
Post by: sprite75 on February 07, 2020, 10:56:10 PM
Been having some heartburn lately so my doctor wants to make sure it doesn't develop into something worse. My uncle had esophageal cancer so my doctor wants to keep a closer eye on such things.

No real downside to this procedure. Most likely, you'll be putting your mind at ease. If there is a problem you'll catch it early and have the best chance of beating it.

Yeah they called back. It's not Barrett's esophagus but an inflammation. They're having me take a higher dose of omeprazole (aka Prilosec) and having me back in about two months to see if that helps.
