While browsing Amazon Prime this evening, I stumbled on what may be the Holy Grail of bad movies!
It's called THE NAKED MONSTER, and it's a tribute to every giant creature feature of the golden era, with corny jokes, tons of stock footage from classic monster films, cameos by numerous famous actors from the 50's and 60's - including the one and only Forest J. Ackerman - one of the worst fake monster costumes imaginable, gratuitous nudity, a cameo from Linnea Quigley, and dialogue that is worthy of AIRPLANE or THE NAKED GUN!
Seriously, if you've never seen this movie, you owe it to yourself as a bad movie fan! Where else will you hear dialogue like:
"So you've got a Corpsman, a Mormon, and a Longshoreman, Gorman?"
"Yes, but please call me Norman!"
OR: "Oh, look, it's giant metal trucks with cannons on top!"
"Tanks!"
"You're welcome!"
And even a variation on a true classic:
"This creature is called a Monstrosaurus Erectus!"
"Erectus? He almost killed us!"
For the love of Ed Wood, my friends, you must watch this movie TODAY!
5/5
cool, never heard of it ...
looking on imdb, apparently it was mostly filmed in 1988, which sparks my curiosity to see it way more than if it was all done in 2005
Apparently it got bogged down in production and they had to reshoot several scenes a decade and a half later.
Such a hilarious movie, though! And so many stars from the classic monster movies of the golden age showing up for cameos!
When I read the subject line I expected to see a discussion about me coming out of the shower.
I'm disappointed I couldn't find this on YouTube
Yeah, I tried that as well even though my wife does actually have an amazon account and I guess I can watch it there.
I had read about it when I was doing research on films that featured Forrest J Ackerman. Looks interesting...anything with John Agar and Kenneth Tobey is worth a watch!
