The veteran actor has died aged 81. Think my favourite movies with him in them were the two F/X ones.

Sad news: he was brilliant in Gorky Park, Silverado, Best Seller and most of all as the psychotic sheriff in First Blood.

I saw BRIAN DENNEHY on Broadway with CHRISTOPHER PLUMMER in Inherit The Wind.
