So you might recall I had a cosmetic procedure in 2012 (okay stretch mark removal from pregnancy number three, blah) that subsequently left me at an elevated risk for certain skin cancers due to the type of laser used, and as part of the settlement from the company behind the procedure I now get regular skin cancer screenings and if need be treatment for free, and after my last screening I was advised that even though it pre-dates my treatments, I should have what I always called my witch's mark/birth mark removed (turns out they think it may not entirely be a birth mark....) and if I do, I think I will have an exact replica of it tattooed in that spot as soon as I can because having a tiny diamond-shaped mark on my right shoulder blade has always been part of who I am. So even though I've spent my life saying I hate tattoos and would never get one....sur-prise!
Well, replacing a beloved birthmark is not quite the same as getting a tramp stamp, so . . . . GO FOR IT!
