...aka THE FUNHOUSE.

A greaseball film maker/ ex-con gets out of prison and takes revenge on a lot of other sleazy folks by featuring them in his home made snuff films. Some gory scenes of them butchering some gal on a make-shift operating table, a guy in a mask that looks like the ones used in ZARDOZ, nudity, and some poor shmuck forced to give a blow job to a deer hoof. Sounds kinda interesting? It sounds better than it is...and that's a confusing and stupid film. Some parts seem dubbed, because folks talk, but their mouths don't move. The acting is poor, except for director Roger Watkins-who also plays the snuff film director in the film. And the most disturbing part about that is he looks and acts like former SNL comedian Bill Hader!

thought I'd seen this, but that plot doesn't ring any bells. I'm probably confusing it with LAST HOUSE ON THE BEACH...

no actual connection to LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT, I take it? they ripped off the tagline...

^ No connection at all. LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT was a far better film!

As for the "It's only a movie" tagline- COLOR ME BLOOD RED used it in 1966!

Never seen but always wanted to. I remember when this first came out on DVD, it was a pretty big deal at a horror forum I was hanging out back then. The disc went OOP soon, and copies were sold on ebay for outrageous prices  :buggedout:

^ It's on TUBI- which is free!
But yeah, I saw it advertised in Psychotronic some years back and yes, the price was insane.

Maybe you're thinking of another LAST HOUSE ripoff: HOUSE ON THE EDGE OF THE PARK

nah, I know that one... not a fan. David Hess is awful in it, which is strange as he's more or less playing the same character as in LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT, which I really like him in...

I bought a VHS copy of this years ago from a local guy who sold dupes of obscure, hard to find movies, imports and public domain stuff. Now, I have it on DVD from he defunct "Video Search of Miami."

I bought a few movies from them, but their quality wasn't very good sometimes and they didn't really tell you that before you ordered something. I think Super Strange Video is a GREAT source of horror/cult/exploitation/trash cinema. Their online catalog is extensive and the item descriptions will say if the picture is fuzzy, faded or whatever or if the sound isn't great. I've placed several orders over a period of years and never been disappointed. The only drawback is the movies come in clear plastic DVD cases with no cover art.
