9. The Omen.
10. Star Wars.
I find it interesting to see the films that come up regularly in peoples lists.
ALIEN and CHINATOWN I would replace one or two of mine... in fact I intended to include CHINATOWN. I think STAR WARS (1977) is a lot of fun, and very important, but compared to those two alone it pales.
I think LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT (1972) is very important. I hate it.
This is real hard- I really should replace something with ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST (1975) or FIVE EASY PIECES (1970).
SPASMO
JAWS
DEEP RED
NUTS IN MAY
THE OMEN
TRIP WITH THE TEACHER
LONG WEEKEND
THE BEAST MUST DIE
LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO SOLANGE?
1) Dirty Harry(1971)
2) Alien(1978)
3) Halloween(1978)
4) Beneath the Planet Of the Apes(1970)
5) Dawn Of the Dead(1978)
6) Tombs Of the Blind Dead(1972)
7) Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde(1971)
8) The Exorcist(1973)
9) Jaws(1975)
10) Westworld(1973)
Here's where ya lost me :

I saw
BENEATH just a few months ago. It's really silly; no comparison to the first. Out of all of them, I like that one least (though it has its moments).
TOMBS OF THE BLIND DEAD is fun but not that good. It's a painful memory because I criticized the film at the old SciFi forum and got thrown off!
SISTER HYDE? :bouncegiggle: Definitely a
GREAT example of a '70s movie!
I just watched some of
WESTWORLD on TCM. Man that is implausible to say the least. :teddyr:
I can see why you belong to this forum!

17 The Man with the Golden Gun (1974)
18 The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)
19 Rocky (1976)

2. Taxi Driver
3. Deliverance
4. The Godfather
5. The Godfather, Part II
6. The French Connection
7. Straw Dogs
