Title: Weird song combos...
Post by: AoTFan on August 02, 2020, 08:16:08 PM
So, I got a new car (well, new to me anyway) and this one has a CD player.  It can't play mp3s, but it can play custom CDs that I burn, so I've been doing that a bit.  Anyway, had a bit of a weird song combo on my last CD.  First it plays Rachel Platten's "Fight Song" and then (remember the CD goes alpha by artist name) it played Rob Dougan's, "I'm Not Driving Anymore".  If you're familiar with the songs, I'm not sure you could find a bigger contrast, one's all upbeat and life affirming, the other an ode to melancholy.

Anyone else had an weird song combos, mood whiplish kind of things while playing through their mp3 library?

I am pretty sure I had a burned CD that had "I Fall to Pieces" by Patsy Cline followed by a raunchy 2 Live Crew song in which the title of I cannot repeat.   I think it was one of the "mixtape" CDs me and my friend made one summer with a lot of weirdly mixed music. I just remember chuckling every time we had someone in the car when those two songs played back to back.

Anybody on Spotify?

I used to have to come up with some all over the place mixers back when I was at WRIR.

The songs themselves might not be shareable, but my playlists are.
