Amazon Prime has this streaming for free if you have a Prime account
The print is not great and is full screen, but for some reason in the US it has NEVER been released on VHS, DVD, or Blu-ray. I checked eBay and all they had was a bootleg selling for $20+ that had a nice looking package, but probably the same crappy print.
Anyway, it is directed by Ruggero Deodato of Cannibal Holocaust infamy and features David Hess from Last House on the Left in a fairly significant role. Actually it's one of his very few horror roles made before the 2000s when some mega fans hired him for some different horror movies.
It takes place in Colorado and features a bunch of teens hanging out in an RV near where some other teenagers got killed supposedly by an undead Native American chief years earlier. Hess and his family live in a cabin near the killings and their son (who as an adult gets a ride back with the new teens) witnessed some killings as a kid.
It's a lot of fun and features a bunch of stock 1980s characters. The promiscuous mean girl, the less mean promiscuous girl, the fat slob joker, all accompanied by varying levels of nudity. Although I could have done without the fat slob going full frontal.
I bought this on dvd a couple of months ago. It was alright, didn't really push all my 80s slasher buttons though... Bruce Penhall who was in a bunch of Andy Sidaris movies is in it. 6/10

Did you get a bootleg DVD or one from overseas? I've read a few places a DVD has never been released in the US or Canada? I've tried looking for one as well and so far can verify that claim since all I've found was bootlegs.
As for the quality I thought it was a lot of fun. Not an all time classic or anything, but an easy way to spend 90 minutes or so :)
well I'm in the uk and my copy is region 2 Spanish ( I think) release called CRIATURA DIABOLICA, but it plays in english without subs. the company releasing it seems to be called 'Cult Movies Gold', I think they're legit?
edit- actually it might be region free, it says 'Todas Las Zonas 1-6' on the back

It's probably a legit release. I haven't heard of Cult Movies Gold, but there's a lot of companies I haven't heard of  Not sure why it was never released to home video in the US or Canada. It's not like it's ultra gory or anything. Maybe the rights holder wants too much to license it.

I bought the German DVD many years ago. PQ is ok and it comes with English audio. Apparently it was slightly edited for violence so the disc is not really recommended.
I thought BodyCount was a blast, as in so-bad-so-good. Since BodyCount was never released in the U.S. they simply stole the original poster art for this unrelated release
