Title: What Blu-ray/DVD Steelbooks Do You Have?
Post by: dcj2112 on December 11, 2020, 11:07:33 AM
For anyone who still collects physical media

I don't have any currently though I had some previously. I'm tempted to get some though. Especially with those cool looking ones of super rare movies like the recent Synapse release of Massacre at Central High.

I don't think I have any. The format doesn't really appeal to me.

I had to go to the collection to see what I've got, as I haven't watched a DVD/Blu Ray for some time. Darn Netflix.

Lifeforce (1985) Remastered Blu Ray steelbook
Oblivion (2015) Limited Edition steelbook
Dune (1984) Collector's Edition
Terminator 2 (1991) Ultimate Edition

I also have the Terminator 2 Special Edition laserdisc box set, which is amazingly large and beautifully made. There's scads more DVD's and blu rays, but those are the only steelbooks I have.

Just out of curiosity, did anyone buy one of these because it was a steel book? I know for mine, I picked it up because I wanted the film and it was the only version of it in the shop.

The only one I have is the 20th anniversary steel book of the original RoboCop (my favorite movie of all time).

The Shining (1980) 4K blu ray comes in a steelbook. Like Alex, I wanted it in 4K and the only one that Best Buy had came in a steelbook. The packaging is nice and the movie looks and sounds fantastic in 4K.
