For instance:
Bird Feeders, particularly in the morning...
The ceiling fan on ultra slow in the evening.....
A skeletal pocket watch ticking away...
Those little green caterpillars with black & yellow spots munching on my fennel plants in the summer............
Pointillisms.........
You?
The ocean.
Clouds, particularly at sunset or sunrise.
The night sky.
Mountains.
M. C. Escher etchings, & similar works of art.
When I was a kid I used to stare at the sun. :bluesad:
If you look long enough, there is a blue dot in the middle, which follows you for the next ten minutes.

Rain.
I used to rain watch on the patio in our old apartment. Our new apartment doesn't have a patio so I'm restricted to windows. Watching and hearing rain is so comforting.
Lightning bugs.
Sadly we missed out this year. We usually watch them every year in my niece's garden.
For me personally it's weird/old cars like the Edsel, Fiat X1/9, etc...

Sadly we missed out this year. We usually watch them every year in my niece's garden.
When I was a teen, we had full length bedroom windows, situated under the slanted side of the roof, so no need for a gutter...
When it rained, a few drops would fall at a time...
If I lay down sideways on my bed, & place the top of my head against the glass, the sporadic falling of the rain drops looks something like scene from 2001: A Space Odyssey........
I like watching my cat sleep.
I also like watching my dogs interacting through the window, when they don't know I am there.
And watching little goats play in the field.

I also love watching the rain or snow. It never seems to last long enough.
I love ornately carved wood. Furniture, architecture, etc. It's not as common these days as it used to be. What happened to our brains where people only want to see plain lines and simple geometric patterns now? Not that there's anything wrong with that, but intricately decorated items are always labeled as gaudy and tasteless and I just don't get why there's so much hate. I also like patterned and chinoiserie wallpaper/murals.
If I had the time and my family had the patience, I could stare into the woods or bodies of water for hours. So many things become more clear when watching nature.. like frogs and toads sitting super still hoping you don't see them.
Fire, as in campfire or firepit. I could stare into those flames for hours.
Same goes for Aquarium.
good movies
Lightning storms, especially when they are right directly overhead. I never understood why so many people are afraid of them. The bright flashes, the crackling sound, the thunderous boom that shakes your innards and your bones, the scent of hot ozone. It is literally a free fireworks display courtesy of Mother Nature. :hot:

Reminds me of when I used to lie in the cargo bed of my Dad's Datsun 280zx & stare up through the rear windshield....
He was driving through a lightning storm one night that was pretty enjoyable.
Even saw a bolt of lightning form a loop... Only time in my life I've ever seen that....
A good painting...

Ants eating food.
They work as an army to tear apart that wasp I just killed. All in uniform order. Like robots. So cool.
Some even start carrying large pieces off and try like hell to get it into the ant hole. Where I'm sure the Queen of the Ants is waiting for her devotions.
You have active ants and wasps in winter?
^ of course not. I don't mean every day. Just when I'm outside and I happen to stare at ants. Which happens with me. I like ants. Who's worried about wasps in the winter? Unless they got a nest in your attic.
I mean- if I'm having a BBQ at my home- i'm not gonna spend my time watching ants tear apart an insect.
I have internet  now!
I used to do it a lot as a kid. I didn't have video games or internet. I went into cornfields in the fall when the stalks were yellow, and pretend I was Thor or some s**t. Me and my brothers would stride thew cornfields with sticks striking down our enemies. Of course we were little kids.
And look at ants!
I was only wondering since you wrote this

Because they did! Like a strange inner space society we will never be able to understand!

"just killed" as in at the time of the incident I am talking about. Not like just f**king now.
Share with me what your smoking! I'll share with you! :drink:
I thought I was pretty clear, man. I killed the wasp. And it was last summer. I was outside cooking. I killed a wasp. I threw it on an ant hill.
Because even when I was a little kid, I fed ants.

By the way, Ron, the English should have been "... They work as an army to tear apart that wasp that I
HAD just killed..."
Otherwise, you weren't clear. :teddyr:

I mentioned pointillism at the beginning of the thread.....
They always remind me of when I would try to look at the pixels in magazine pictures with my toy microscope when I was a kid... Big waste of time! :teddyr:
That, & they're a big diversion from the works of Bob Ross....
I can't find a picture of it, but the one that turned me on to pointillism Is Serenade by Marcus Uzilevsky.
Pointilissim? Gee, what that?

Yeah. I actually practice it myself.
I don't use a lot of cross hatching or shading. Mostly straight solid lines and ink dots . And extended dots.
I think I do it in comic book form. I ain't no Van Gough- but that's ok. I want to keep my ears! :twirl:

Blizzards. We ain't had a good blizzard this year. I'm sure we will. I love when the snow gets 3 foot high and icicles go from the roof to the ground. I like walking in it. When Lawton is a ghost town and snowed in.
That ain't happened in a while. :bluesad:

Flying Windows, the old screensaver. Pity they no longer include it in new PCs.
When I lived in the Bronx in 1979, I stayed at an apartment building with my Grandma Morris.
I used to make paper airplanes and throw them off from the fire escape. So relaxing to watch them fly and flutter.
