Title: Bad B movies filmed in bad quality
Post by: Scott123 on February 23, 2021, 02:05:57 PM
What are some bad movies that were filmed in bad quality as well? Yes I like that too ... nothing like a late night movie with bad VHS, static, bad sound, rolling scroll bars etc. I know I'm weird, but that's how I roll ...

I've noticed some pretty drastic differences between some of the Hammer Horror films I picked up on $1 DVD years ago, & how they're being presented nowadays on late nite after heavy re-enhancement....

Poor lighting & being just out of focus made The Legend Of Boggey Creek a little more mysterious & scary....

There's a movie I saw on Elvira back in the '80s called The Beast In the Cellar, that has this one scene that's "in the dark"; you can't tell what's going on, & that makes it kinda scary....

Good luck finding a good copy of the Ed Wood scripted the REVENGE OF DR.X (1970).
But, like Scott says, I like it that way.
It's like I was watching it on uhf in the 70's.

Some movies actually look better in bad quality. The Ice Pirates (1984) actually looks better on VHS than it does on DVD, for example.

agree, in fact I had a book about movie poster artwork that actually had an essay on exactly this subject. about how VHS quality image lends itself to certain films

SAMURAI COP in high def looks odd.

Now this is some of the "high quality" I'm talking about! LOL ... I don't know why, but I love stuff like this.
