I don't think I would. Too many weird people I don't know. I would if I was 23 years old, but I'm pushing 59.
I've only been on one ("only" ha) and it was back in 2005 with my college roommate. I had a good time but I've never felt drawn to take another. Now if it was free....? Maybe.
Right now, no. In more normal times, sure.
We once took an eight day cruise from Italy to France, Spain and Portugal and the time on the ship was kind of boring.
The cool people hung out at the designated smoking section, so we joined. There really wasn't much other to do than to get drunk which wasn't my thing. We did a couple of 3:00 AM smoke-meetings - those were the best moments on the entire trip.
I doubt I would ever go on a cruise again. I'd be more interested in taking a trip with the Trans-Siberian Express.
I I had the time, sure. Free is free, & I've not been on one before.
Chances are I won't have the time tho.
My wife and I took a 9 day Caribbean cruise in 2019. It was great. I would definitely do it again. Stopping at the various islands was nice, but I enjoyed just being on the ship cruising. I got the unlimited drink package and definitely got my money's worth out of it. There was so much to do on the ship you couldn't possibly do all of it. Saw a few shows, gambled in the casino (and hit about $700 on a slot machine by accident . . . I was literally just killing time waiting for my wife and BANG!), went to several bars on the ship (jazz bar, piano bar, karaoke bar, English pub, bionic bar - which had a robot that mixed your drinks, and a couple others), great food, trivia contests, all you can eat soft-serve ice cream machine . . . damn it was fun.
Before Covid I wouldn't because being on a ship for days doesn't suit me
After Covid I won't because being on a ship for days doesn't suit me.

Basically. When I go on vacation I like to explore. Taking a cruise is like being trapped in a resort. That's why it got boring for us.
As a means of travel, it's not the best way to see stuff.
If I go on a cruise, everyone will be saying "You're going to need a bigger boat." :teddyr:
No, Trev, they'd be saying: "This boat's gonna need a bigger toilet!" :teddyr: :bouncegiggle: :bouncegiggle:
My wife has wanted a cruise for years; now that we're both about to get the vaccine, I'd jump on the opportunity.

Thanks I needed that. :teddyr: :teddyr:
Why would I want to be stranded in the middle of the ocean with people I want to kill at first sight? At least punch them in the face.
I went on one. I helped babysit my niece and nephew in exchange for my mother and sister covering my room.
The very first time you walk around the ship you basically see everything you're going to see for the next however long it is. The food was awesome thuogh
I mostly eat cereal and sandwhiches lately. I drink a lot of booze as well, so sailing across the the 7 seas in a floating bar would likely kill me.

Ronny, I think things would be very different if we were all on that cruise together. Every night, bad movie night.

Well, that's different! I'd still be drunk every day, but I wouldn't want to punch people!
A man I knew in Austin took several cruises with his family, including one on the SS Norway when he was about five, and the captain was meeting and greeting families and when he met my friend, my friend, at age five, asked him: "Do you have a morgue on this ship?"
So the captain showed him a place where if anyone died, their bodies would be stored in refrigerated slots til they reached port.
Truest of true stories.
Same friend was later on a cruise with his family, he was thirteen, and he and his cousin got stoned and kept taking ashtrays and other small objects over to the rails and throwing them into the ocean and then freaking out about: "No other human hands will ever touch those things again.... THEY ARE LYING ON THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN!!!!!!"
SAME FRIEND, different cruise when he was about sixteen. There were apparently people from a graduating high school class from Alabama on the ship, and he had sex with one of the girls, and her semi-boyfriend brought his friends and smacked my friend around, so he limped back to his brothers and cousin and tried to get them to go find the Alabama guys who beat him up, but his oldest brother said, "That was what you got for messing with someone's girlfriend, bro."
Mmm. He's lived a life, I'll tell you.
Nope.
My parents went on one and had a terrible time. Way too crowded. On top of that their room was broken into and some of my mother's jewelry and other items were stolen.
I don't want to be trapped in a giant floating hotel that I can't escape from.
Ash! My friend!
Never seemed like a good idea. I can get drunk right here at home. Not among weird people I don't know.
I know what large bodies of water look like. I would feel trapped. And perhaps lash out at somebody and be arrested while screaming "YOUR ONE OF THEM!"

I could picture you wearing a shirt that says that. :drink:

Welcome, Ash  :teddyr:
I'm gonna spend buku bucks to get in a huge floating bar?
I can spend the amount for a 5th of whiskey and a 6-pack and float around a lake !
I'll still have money! Unlike the dumb f**k who just came home after spending too much money on a cruise!
I don't want to get broke to cruise around anywhere. I'm lucky I cruise up town. I'm 58, man.
currently no
free ocean cruise when things get normal... sure
