Title: Doctor Who Versus the Daleks
Post by: ER on March 17, 2021, 05:50:26 PM
I get why this train wreck is not considered authentic Who but why then is that terrible 1996 tv movie embraced as canon?

Peter Cushing: "Hello, I'm Doctor Who."

The stomachs of Whovians everywhere churn....

Haven't seen either one. I'd guess the 60's film isn't considered cannon because the Doctor has a different backstory; he's a human mad scientist who just happened to invent a time machine.

It's only embraced as canon because the most recent TV Doctor(Sylvester McCoy) was in it to regenerate into Paul McGann, who was later seen to regenerate into John Hurt(the WAR DOCTOR), who then becomes Christopher Eccleston's Doctor. etc
