New record: China's 'artificial sun' nuclear fusion reactor ran at 216 million degrees Fahrenheit (120million°C) for 100 seconds. Its previous record was 180 million°F for 100 seconds
How it works: This graphic shows the inside of a nuclear fusion reactor and explains the process by which power is produced. At its heart is the tokamak, a device that uses a powerful magnetic field to confine the hydrogen isotopes into a spherical shape, similar to a cored apple, as they are heated by microwaves into a plasma to produce fusion

It also achieved a peak temperature of 288million°F – more than ten times hotter than the sun"
Boy, just imagine the meltdown of that sucker! It would make Chernobyl look like that time that the tide washed away your sand castle. :buggedout:
Gee- you guys are so fun to hang out with!
