I saw this with my dad in the theater last week.
It was really solid....except for one thing.. spoiler ahead in green text
In the movie a car is shot into outer space.... and runs for a little while like nothing super crazy has happened and this is a normal everyday thing
this is the jumping the shark moment in the franchise
everything else in the Fast and Furious Franchise has a level of realism and logic to it... even if it is far fetched and times
this is just really, really dumb and destroys all suspension of belief while watching the movie
and aside from that it was really good
the plot was interesting, good performances all around --- but that was just ... well stupid
3.5 out of 5 cars
I saw them filming this in Edinburgh.

Thanks, bob. Someone told me that there's a tribute to Paul Walker in it, is that correct?

yes... spoiler in green text
at the end sort of, but I kind of think in the film it's inching towards exploitation because they use Paul Walker's character of Brian O'Conner as a plot point in the movie soin keeping an eye on his child as well as Toretto's child while Dom and his crew attempt to save the day...
but yes at the very end you can see the blue car he usually drove in the franchise as his crew get together for a meal you can see it pull up to join them... you can't see him, but it's strongly suggested it's Brian
I had to look it up because I just thought it was weird that a car pulled up and we, the audience, didn't see who it was and that's what I found as far as an explanation
one more thing about this
there's a mid post credits scene
Nice movie for a casual evening;) Dynamics is one of the biggest advantages of Fast and Furious 9!
