Sam Adams is coming out with a beer so strong (https://www.cbsnews.com/news/sam-adams-beer-utopias-illegal-15-states) there's 15 states they can't sell it in.
QuoteSamuel Adams' latest version of its limited-quantity "Utopias" beer is so strong that the 28% alcohol content makes it illegal in 15 U.S. states.
Released every two years, the 12th version of Utopias is barrel-aged and finished with 2,000 pounds of cherries, including Michigan's Balaton fruit, coveted by foodies for their tart-sweet flavor in pies, cherry preserves and wine. The potent brew will be commercially available starting October 11, Samuel Adams said in a statement on Thursday.
It's also expensive. Over $200 a bottle.
Even if it was a lot cheaper I don't know I'd get a bottle. Just too strong for my tastes. Even anything much above 10% is too strong.
^ $200??? :buggedout:
I jar of Elvis' p**s is cheaper! And likely tastes about the same!
GREAT!!!!
I see the most pointless reboot of Smokey & the Bandit ever made!!!!!
Of course it's legal... 28% is less than a regular bottle of whiskey. What's illegal is to label it "beer." This is just a marketing gimmick.
I will drink beers up to 15% alcohol.
^Gee... When I was a youngster, I would mix a cigar tube full o' Everclear into a bottle of Mamba for kick!...^
