Looked forward to it for weeks; it was bor-ing.
I just watched the trailer. It is scary how Nicole Kidman does not at all look like Nicole Kidman. Are they sure they cast Nicole Kidman and not somebody else?
Growing up in Germany I Love Lucy was not a thing here, never seen an episode. As for the movie I'll skip it since I have no plans getting Amazon Prime.
It was fine. Not sure the attraction of biopics in general. Yeah, Nicole Kidman reminded me of Lucille Ball. So what?
Now that I've processed it a little more, I guess my issue with this visually interesting and well-acted movie was the plot felt like an afterthought tacked on like a sweater draped over a model's shoulders after a photoshoot has already been set up. But I do think Ms. Kidman deserves major praise. (And the writers should have been fired.)
I also was reminded of a certain infamous question Neil Gaiman had a TV pose about Lucy in American Gods, and every time I'd see Lucy and Desi partaking of a red-hot moment on this show, I'd wince because, sorry, some things ya just dooooon't wanna see....
I'll always owe Lucille Ball a huge debt as she made Star Trek possible.
I love Lucy, but no interest. Y'wanna learn about Desi's bad habits...? Read Full Service. That'll open yer eyes! :teddyr:
I didn't know Lucy had a TV series in 1986!
It lasted 13 episodes.
