The Slumber Party/Sorority House Massacre series(s) would be guilty pleasures of mine except for one thing. I in no way feel guilty about them. They have some nice gory kills and they have lots of cute girls wearing very little clothing.
So, based on that I decided to give the new movie a shot.
There's actually a lot of fun ideas in it. The idea of a group of girls going back to where a killer was and trying to lure him out to kill him was interesting enough. The gore is well done and better than I had expected for a Syfy original. It's the girls in little clothing part where it's lacking.
It's very obvious this movie tries to be more feminist and there's a few times it works but other times it comes comes off as too heavy handed. It's also bit off putting that the movie felt the need to avoid any female nudity (even their sleepwear isn't that revealing) but has no problems showing a close up of a man's butt in a "sexy" shower scene. I will say that the men's slumber party scene is hilarious though.
Also the pacing is all over the place. The big twist where they think they've killed the killer basically brings the movie to a halt before it tries to jump start things again.
As Slashers go, you could do worse, but otherwise it's a fairly mediocre movie.
