I guess the guy upstairs made him an offer (https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/james-caan-godfather-thief-actor-171019020.html) he couldn't refuse.
QuoteJames Caan, best know for playing tough guy roles like Sonny Corleone in "The Godfather" and Frank in "Thief," has died. Caan was 82.
The Oscar-nominated performer's other memorable roles include "Misery," "Brian's Song" and "Elf."
"It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Jimmy on the evening of July 6. The family appreciates the outpouring of love and heartfelt condolences and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time," the actor's Twitter page said.
RIP Sonny
Sad news.

OMG, that is very sad news. I genuinely liked him. :bluesad:
Methinks some The Godfather watching will be in order this weekend. And maybe if it's free on a service I already pay for Alien Nation too.
I once read James was a regular visitor at Hugh Hefner's Playboy Mansion in the late 1970s. He would access the mansion through a secret underground tunnel in order to avoid paparazzis
RIP :bluesad:
Mr Caan once guest starred on an episode of Hawaii Five O as a murder suspect who later turns out to be a friend of the victim and helps the team bring the killers to justice. At one point, he punches the snot out of the suspect! :buggedout:

The Daily Mail has pictures of him acting with Pierce Brosnan in Fast Charlie: Mr Caan is in a wheelchair and on oxygen, so he must have been really sick. :bluesad:
