Title: California attorney tried to sneak in a sexist dig at opposing counsel
Post by: sprite75 on July 20, 2022, 07:51:36 PM
Operative word is tried.  He's now in a bit (https://abovethelaw.com/2022/07/attorney-tries-to-slip-sexist-insult-past-the-judge-it-doesnt-go-well-for-him/?fbclid=IwAR1vo3Z58Qt2my-EiNjRO5wr5nD2NRgoYisS4NO7noKO37LeE8OQtIrs3W8) of trouble.

QuoteIt started out with comments attorney Timothy Scott made on the record to opposing counsel. After losing a motion for nonsuit, Scott made the following remarks, just laced with meaning:

"...I hope this doesn't sound unctuous, but just to end the weekend on a good note, I want to thank the court staff. I want to say to have a good weekend to Mr. DeMaria. I want to say have a good weekend to Ms. Frerich. And I want to say have a good weekend to both MTS counsel. I'll See you next Tuesday. See you next Tuesday."

To which clueless Judge Eddie Sturgeon responded, "How kind."

But you know, it wouldn't be an ATL story if that's where it ended. The Urban Dictionary meaning of the phrase was shared with Judge Sturgeon by one of the attorneys on the receiving end of this not-so-hidden insult (Traci Lagasse). He then held an in-chambers meeting where it was revealed that Scott knew *exactly* what he was saying — because of course he did. Yet he tried to justify it by arguing that he didn't think anyone would know what he was *really* saying.

Yeah.  Judge was p**sed off not only because of the sexist insult but because a***ole attorney tried to get a fast one past him.  Judge put in an order (https://docs.google.com/viewerng/viewer?url=https://abovethelaw.com/uploads/2022/07/Minute-Order-re-Misconduct.pdf&hl=en_US) referring him for discipline with the California bar.

Hope this clown gets what's coming to him.

Had to read the article. Apparently, it's a slang way of saying c**t.

(Convert the first two words to letters, then use the last two words first letters.)
