Title: BARBARIAN (2022)
Post by: indianasmith on September 24, 2022, 09:56:24 PM
Horror films are a very cliched genre, so an original horror film is a real treat.
I went to see this movie with my daughters last night with no real expectations, and walked away very impressed.
A bit of a slow start, but it gets scary and stays scary after about 30 minutes in.   Brilliant casting, excellent storyline, and a remarkable creepy villain make for a refreshingly spooky film about what can lurk in the dark corners of our decaying cities in America.
Check it out!  5/5

I quite enjoyed this one. You know as soon as Justin Long appears in a horror movie though that it isn't going to end well for him.

I guess the filmmakers are glad some folks are impressed by this film. Style over substance. Brainless characters. Nonsensical actions by the characters.

But I guess it is okay if you drop your brain in some brine before watching it. Personally, I was disappointed given the endless hype. But the camera work was good. (Mom always said to say one good thing about stuff you dislike.)

But, hey, you do you.

I think it is a matter of record here by now that I am easily entertained.

Hey, at least you get out in nature looking for arrowheads. Props for that, sir!
