Title: RIP Boet Troskie
Post by: Trevor on December 25, 2022, 11:41:56 AM
The name might not be overly familiar but he was the producer of The Gods Must Be Crazy, Beautiful People and Lost In The Desert.

I knew him personally: he was a millionaire many times over but he remained a down to earth and friendly person with an almost constant grin.

RIP Oom Boet.  :bluesad:

Sorry to hear you lost an acquaintance.  :bluesad: RIP.

Thanks Rev: my first encounter with him was way back in 1991 when I assisted my two colleagues in emptying their film vault at Mimosa Pictures in Johannesburg before their move: three weeks work and almost 20 000 cans  :buggedout: :buggedout:

He came to see us working away - Marius, Freddie and me - and greeted us, asked if we were OK and ordered his staff to ensure that the three of us got a hot lunch daily for the time we were there. Nice man.
