I'm trying to decide who has been the bigger star. Not in terms of box office figures (or box office figures alone) but in terms of casting bigger influence across popular culture, the more buzz in life, the more ardent fandom, the splash they've made in their careers. Whose star has been brighter, let us say, that of Tom Cruise, or Brad Pitt?
Who cares?
I believe they both lurk on here... what say ye, fellas?
I was just wondering because if one of them "had" to get eaten by a shark, which one would be the least missed?
My guess would be Cruise. I think as an example his couch-jumping antics generated more headlines worldwide than Pitt's divorce from Angelina Jolie. Not something I've ever really thought about, but there you go.
Both had an interview with the vampire, so 😉🐢

agree... I mean, they're both about as top tier A-list as you can get so it's splitting hairs really. But I think Cruise has that clean cut Hollywood 'hero' vibe about him. Pitt seems a bit darker. Would Cruise have done movies like SE7EN or BURN AFTER READING?
I haven't seen that many Cruise movies tbh. Maybe I'm wrong
also Pitt's debut was a weird slasher CUTTING CLASS
To answer seriously, I think Cruise has had the greater impact on pop culture: TOP GUN, the underpants scene in RISKY BUSINESS, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE... Pitt has only Tyler Durden. But I think Pitt is the better actor.

I thought of you, but Cruise's undies were to fresh and new to make the Trevor cut. Your undies have life experience.

🤣🤣🤣🐢
I like Pitt better. I enjoyed INGLORIOUS BASTERDS and the one with the tank.
Cruise...I liked EYES WIDE SHUT, but not because of him. And that's it. Oh- RAIN MAN. Also- no credit to Cruise. He can Cruise right of a f**king cliff.
BRAD PITT because he's avoided many embarrassments CRUISE has not. Reputation matters. Comparing them is like comparing MICHAEL JACKSON to PRINCE.

That's my take. Cruise is the bigger name of the two, but Pitt actually has more talent and versatility.
Not a big fan of either one. Both have egos and are in films I honestly don't like.
Yeah, Pitt played a baby at the end of Benjamin Buttons, and that was preeeeettty impressive!
