Those buildings are great but that statue :buggedout:
Yeah. The statue tends to come up in conversation when we are getting any visitors over from the states. Normally they google for things to go see, and when the read descriptions of it they ask "Is it really as bad as everyone says?"
If I visited, I would never leave sight of that statue. If it were possible, I might even steal it.

If you want to take it home, I'd seriously consider paying your airfare over and offer to help you remove it.

Thought it was just a play on words, then you read the plaque on the base, & y' realize, that's way too much abstract symbolism for one image....
I thought Elgin was where the clocks came from...
To the best of my knowledge there are no clockmakers in Elgin, although it does have Johnston's woollen mill and plenty of distilleries. Oh, and the shortbread place.

The other statue in the video looked interesting... and you're near the sea!
Is that one on top of the pillar? If so, that is on the crown of a rather steep hill. Walked up to it a few times with people who wanted to know who it was (I can't remember the name, but I believe it was some duke who was a noted military adventurer). I was told a story about the hill (which does look fairly unusual). The tale went that there was a castle there, but the inhabitants were struck down by some sort of plague and basically, the castle was filled in with earth and buried beneath an artificial hill. For various reasons, I don't believeit but I did think it was a cool story.
