SKY HIGH- Jigsaw
In the film THE MAN FROM HONG KONG/THE DRAGON FLIES
The song doesn't really make me think of a kung fu film..
I don't know the name of the song, but in NIGHT TRAIN TO TERROR (1985) their's some kind of upbeat song interlude that goes "Everybody's got something to do, everybody but you!", which best sums up watching that moronic film. (I liked it anyway, of course )
"I'm siiiinging in the rain..!"

Something I have never cared for is anachronistic music, where a show set in the past, like Peaky Blinders, or Sophia Coppola's Marie Antoinette movie, brings in music from our time. Somehow that invariably takes me out of the narrative.
That awful ABBA like dong from the John Russo movie MIDNIGHT 😳😳

The film A KNIGHTS TALE used David Bowie's song Golden Years in it.

Maybe not, but it's a banger! They were definitely going for a James Bond-type single more than a martial arts theme. The producers were totally cashing in on co-star George Lazenby, a former Bond (ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE) - who plays the bad guy!

Me too. That rap song in DJANGO UNCHAINED was really stupid.
Many outstanding possible replies to this topic - here's just one of many that competes... Hot Butter's "Popcorn" appearing incongruously in the Findlay's pseudo-Bigfoot gore flick, SHRIEK OF THE MUTILATED:

the song Gangster Rock performed by Felony at the rollerdisco in GRADUATION DAY isn't that out of the ordinary, but the fact it goes on for 8 whole minutes of the film virtually uninterrupted is pretty strange

I decided to use "interesting" because it looks like some of the choices make sense.
For example,
Kelly's Heroes looks like a WW2 version of
M*A*S*H*, or meant as a black comedy. In which case, the song matches the atmosphere of the movie.
Or maybe not.
Let's add TV shows.

This a rare case that the Western opening is better then the Japanese.
Can't remember the name of the cartoon series, but back in the '80s, there was one of those Voltron ripoffs that played Somebody's Watching Me by Rockwell every time the giant robot was about to get in a fight with some kaiju.....
