Anyone read this or plan to read it, or been following the controversy?
I read a preview and don't think I'd pay money to read more, but I wouldn't call it bad.
Reminds me a little of the James Potter novels from the '10s, only those were free.
Not one I've heard of. I am assuming it is a rip off of The Lord of the Rings?
Here's a video that goes into it.

Is that the one where geeks are freaking out because they cast a black actor as Aragorn?
Since you can't be bothered to click on the Youtube link, a quick summary. A guy named Demetrious Polychron is suing Amazon because he claims that their craptastic streaming series Rings of Power ripped off his craptastic fanfic The Fellowship of the King. As noted in the video, the ideal result would be that Amazon be found guilty, but Polychron gets bupkis as he didn't have permission to use the Middle Earth setting, with the Tolkien estate litigating him into oblivion. Alas, that probably won't happen. Amazon will likely be found not guilty, as the whole screams frivolous lawsuit. His only hope in not getting countersued is if he can convince the courts that his work is a parody (the title certainly sounds like one) and therefore fall under Fair Use.
