I remember Bride of Frankenstein being heavily pushed forward when The Dark Universe was supposed to be a thing. Oddly enough, before even a regular Frankenstein movie.
I'm kind of curious as to how that would have played out.
I know it's a long shot, but I really want to see the classic look for the Bride reused. She's one of the classic Universal Monsters, but she never really got to do anything.

If Universal wants to reboot the old classics- nah. They should just make new original horror films. Trying to make a superhero type franchise out of the old classics is a stupid idea, and the few they have attempted are s**t.
The reason Hammer's Dracula and Frankenstein films were enjoyable is because they were made as original ideas- and they had heart. Not a sterile marketing plan. There's no heart.
Oh yeah- plus they suck. REINFIELD looks interesting- but just because it seems like an homage. But of course that's a guess. I aint seen it yet. And it's a comedy.

I would be all for a GOOD legitimate take on the Dark Universe, but you need people that really love the properties. (You wouldn't think that would be too hard to find. Who doesn't love the Universal Monsters?)
Then you need to focus on making good movies, not a shared cinematic universe. The crossovers can happen organically if you set them up right. Don't force them.
I maintain that since Dr. Frankenstein created both, and that the Monster often refers to him as Father
that the Monster and his Bride are technically brother and sister.
It is interesting how iconic the Bride became considering she's only at the very end of the movie and doesn't even speak, just hisses.
