I guess POLICE SQUAD is the daddy of these?
my personal favourite is GARTH MARENGHI'S DARKPLACE... 2004. only 6 episodes. sends up bad 80s horror / action brilliantly. highly recommended.
in the 90s I enjoyed FUNKY SQUAD. Australian parody of 70s cop shows... re-watched a couple of episodes again recently on youtube. hasn't held up too well, but it's hard to dislike.
just discovered FRESNO... 1986. just 5 episodes. a send up of soaps like DYNASTY / DALLAS etc
whutchu got?
The Last Precinct
Night Stand with Dick Dietrick
Danger Theater (1993)
thanks - a brief description of what it is they're parodying or spoofing would be great (cause I'm lazy)
KNOWING ME, KNOWING YOU (1994)
spoof of typical tv chat shows... (had previously been a radio show)
Sledgehammer and Cop Rock are two that come to mind.
ok, guess I'll do the leg work here

The Last Precinct
1986.
"Chronically underrated police spoof with likable Perpich as a modest uniformed cop labouring thanklessly with his ragtag colleagues" (from an imdb review... imdb description does not explicitly state it's a spoof)
QuoteNight Stand with Dick Dietrick
1995
"a satire of Jerry Springer/ Ricki Lake sleaz-oid talk shows"
^ sounds like US version of KNOWING ME KNOWING YOU, which I loved... will have to check this out!

vaguely remember this title from my childhood but wasn't aware it was a spoof... watched a bit on youtube. very on the nose!
QuoteCop Rock
1990
cop show crossed with a musical

BATMAN (1966) was a spoof of the old superhero serials of the 40's.

the POW! KABAAM! one? never actually thought about it but I guess it's very spoof like, however being probably my first ever exposure to Batman, I thought that's what it was meant to be... (if u see what I mean?)
THE DAY TODAY (1994)
BRASS EYE (1997)
two satirical news broadcast type progs from uk... they style was cutting edge graphics and sharp investigative documentary type stuff, but the subject matter was akways ridiculous and made up.
in BRASS EYE they even duped actual celebrities into participating, thinking they were campaigining for various causes, such as warning about 'heavy electricity' falling out of wires

Yeah, it's definitely a parody, but as a kid I didn't get it either.
The 70's TV show SOAP (where Billy Crystal got his start) was a parody of- well- soap opera's.

Possibly why Batman as a 'serious' character has never quite sat right with me... (well that and the fact he's a grown man wearing a bat suit )
"Fernwood 2 Night" was a parody of talk shows. It was a spin-off of "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" which was a soap opera parody.

That's just the opinion of fans who see any Batman that isn't Grimdark Edgelord in tone as illegitimate. The Batman comic book has had its more lighthearted phases and was going through one at the time of the Adam West series. A while back, Frank Conniff was on the podcast Reels of Justice prosecuting The Dark Knight. His primary motivation for doing so was because he believes that the Batman franchise has been tilting too hard into the Dark and Gritty of late. While I found his case to be a bit underprepared, he had a killer response to the defense's lauding of Heath Ledger's performance as tthe Joker.
Batman comics in the 50's and 60's were, for the most part, just plain stupid.

batman the LSD years :teddyr:
- I think there was a fairly recent spoof type tv prog that people on here were into, but I only saw a couple of clips. seem to remember it was adolf hitler chasing people around?... or maybe just a character who looked like him?
Something else to consider regarding Sixties Batman. In just about every other live action superhero TV show of that general period, the lead character spends most of the episode in the secret identity, only going into superhero mode for the climax. With Batman, after determining that Gotham City's finest aren't up to the task, Commissioner Gordon sends up the Batsignal, Bruce and Dick slide down the Batpoles, and they get on their nanananas.
does batman even wear 'civvies'? or is he permenantly in batman mode...I confess I've never seen any of the movies, and I don't remember the tv show that well...
^I seen the first "new" Batman movie- with Micheal Keaton- he wore a suit and tie. In the series- he was Bruce Wayne on occasion.

I don't recall there being
any other superhero show of the 60's, beyond the short lived the GREEN HORNET. In the 70's they had the Hulk, Wonder Woman, and Spiderman, but don't recall much about them.
The 50's had Superman, and he was pretty much Supes most of the time. I mean, who wants to sit threw a whole program of Clark Kent?
Oh yeah- more 70's superhero shows- SHAZAM! (Captain Marvel), ISIS, ELECTRA WOMAN AND DYNA GIRL- all live action Saturday morning shows.
