Prequel streaming this October on Paramount+ only. No trailer yet. I predict it will be bad, even though Pam Grier is in it.
Pam is in it? I'm there!
PS: Here's the trailer- and it looks good to me!

Cool trailer! I'll give it a watch.
Huh! If I see if on streaming I may give it a go. I've long thought a good story for either print or film could arise from the little King tantalized us with about the Micmac peoples and their history with the "pet sematary."
19% at RT. As predicted, it sucks.
^ I don't go by Rotton Tomatoes. I'll see for myself.
^ looking forward to your review
Watched it last night. Not as good as I thought it would be; it focused less on the Micmac origins of the burial ground and more on the experience of a young Judd Crandall when a neighbor buried his son, killed in Vietnam, there, and he returned as a murderous monster.
Paramount usually does test screenings for all their movies. Smile (2022) was intended for their streaming platform but scored high in test screenings so they released Smile to theaters.
I've read at another forum that Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin and Pet Sematary: Bloodlines scored very low so they dumped them on Paramount+
well. i have to say that this fits the " so bad it's BAD" category for me, except for the dog makeup and the masks. sorry...
I thought it was... acceptable. It's basically a whole film made out from the story Judd Cranfdall explains to the protagonist of the novel. There a re a few surprises, but it' a very modest effort.
