However, I've only seen one selection (iirc) from Rev's unseen list... near the bottom (worst of the worst):
>>>Dark Harvest II: The Maize (2004)
.......Shot about 25 minutes from my house... pretty Bad bad indeed....... and it's not even that director's worst film!
^ I thought Rev's pick HALLOWEEN 3 was a great movie, and the only good HALLOWEEN sequel.

I think it's a good movie too, but I think it's generally considered part of the bad movie universe. IMDb rating is 5.1, which is well below average.
I get 'tv movie' vibes from part 3
seeing as I'm too lazy to pick 31 films, here's my ranking of the HALLOWEEN franchise
PART 2 (ooh controversial)
PART1 (slightly overrated but still really good)
PART 5 (mad and bad)
RESURRECTION (utterly stupid but quite fun)
PART 4 (just about okay enough to be watchable)
PART 3 (original but a tad repetitive)
H20 (bland but watchable)
THE CURSE OF (directionless and weak)
HALLOWEEN 2018 (not what I wanted from a comeback)
BOTH ROB ZOMBIE ONES (just horrible)
not seen: KILLS, ENDS
^ What did you think of Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN?
I liked the poor white trash vibe.
I respect that he did his own thing with them, but I found them both totally awful... unwatchable. 2nd one especially.
Sadly I might have to do only 13 Films for Halloween this year due to a new job with little time off.

I didn't intend to offend anyone, I'm sorry if I did. I was just stating a fact about myself. I got the wheelchair last year after I tried to drink myself to death, and I couldn't walk at the time. It was awful, and I have much respect for those who have to deal with those problems every day.

Gotta' say, we do not often seem to see eye-to-eye on manty movies, but I largely agree w/ your (offbeat!) rankings and rationale of these.
I've always preferred the original part 2 as a "second act" that delivers great catharsis following the OG.
Part 5 is perennially underrated... watched it again 3-4 years ago... it maintains.
Part 4... perennially overrated. Starts well, gets as stupid as any dumb slasher ever.
The Zombies are garbage. He's a one or two trick pony whose run his cred into the dirt long ago...
Your comments about SOTW's "TV movie" vibe are received... it's a schizophrenic film. I find parts extremely striking and quite cinematic... but it's not consistent. There are some flat sections for sure...

interesting how the big 3 slasher franchises went 'psychic kid' around the same time, with F13 part 7, and ElmSt Dream Child, their late 80s entries

Part 5 plays well in our current cultural "moment"... for me anyway.
All the male characters behave w/ ignorance or w/ what today people call "toxicity", Loomis included, and Michael comes off as unusually vicious here...
Everyone suffers for that behavior (men certainly get it too) but the female characters are particularly sympathetic and still have a really hard time... :bluesad:
I watched it ia few years back n October around some confirmation hearings that I shall leave unspecified... it resonated.
You've done a great job keeping things reasonably light in this thread, ZNO, while still speaking truth, and I thank you.

fair... I mean, I have a black friend who is perfectly fine with the N word, which is cool, but I personally wouldn't dream of using it in casual conversation (or ever, really)...
A black student called me the n-word (ending w/ a) in class today. He clearly intended it in a friendly way. I look like the guy in my profile pic. Third day of school.
